Thigh Lift
Do you suffer from flabby, sagging thighs with excess cellulite and "jiggly" skin that won't respond to diet or exercise? Do you find that the appearance of your thighs causes undue self-consciousness and embarrassment? If so, you may be an excellent candidate for a thigh lift, also known as a 'thighplasty', a safe, common cosmetic procedure that sculpts and tightens the upper legs for a more appealing, youthful figure.
A loss of skin elasticity in the thigh area can be a result of aging, genetics or extreme weight loss. With a successful thigh lift, slim, stylish jeans, skirts and swimwear fit better, confidence is restored, and the overall silhouette takes on a firmer, more toned aesthetic.

What is the process like?

Thigh lift surgery involves liposuction and/or excision. Liposuction is generally performed first to suction out unsightly fat deposits, after which excess skin and tissue is removed through small, well-placed incisions that are hidden in the groin region. Great care is taken to achieve minimal scarring.

During an outer thigh lift, typically performed in conjunction with additional lower body contouring, the doctor will focus on the "saddlebags' (excess fat on the hips) and on the buttocks. An inner thigh lift will tone the areas near the groin and above the knee. Both types of lifts can be performed together, or separately, depending on the patient's wishes.
Thigh lift surgery takes between 1 and 4 hours, and is performed under general anesthesia.

Tell me about recovery
Depending on the complexity of the work performed, recovery from a thigh lift can present some unique challenges. If the patient has undergone an inner thigh lift, lying down and standing are possible, but sitting can be difficult due to the location of the treatment sites. A catheter may assist you for the first 24 hours so that you do not need to use the restroom. Drains may be in place for several days post-op, and compression garments may be needed to facilitate optimal healing. Pain and discomfort can be addressed through medication prescribed by the doctor. Most clients find they are ready to return to normal activities in around 1-2 weeks.
