Tummy Tuck

The tummy tuck can be performed alone, or in conjunction with additional body contouring procedures. Often it is a component of the popular Mommy Makeover, which may also include breast revision surgery and liposuction. If you are interested in a more comprehensive outcome, your doctor can discuss the options with you during consultation, as combining treatments may minimize necessary incisions and scarring while also cutting down on recovery times.

Finding the right plastic surgeon for your procedure can be a daunting task. While it's imperative that you choose a professional with outstanding training, credentials and proven expertise, it's also important to connect with your doctor on a personal level so that you feel your needs and wishes are being clearly understood.

Dr. Lahijani possesses that rare combination of unrivaled industry authority and a friendly, down-to-earth demeanor, encouraging the kind of frank discussion that leads to phenomenal results. After reviewing his extensive library of before and after photos along with winning patient testimonials, it's easy to see why Dr. Lahijani has earned a reputation as one of the best Los Angeles tummy tuck surgeons around.

What should I expect

The tummy tuck procedure is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 1-3 hours on average. You will undergo surgery at our own operating facility in Los Angles, accredited by the AAAASF and outfitted with the very latest in state-of-the-art equipment and technology. During a full tummy tuck, the doctor will create an incision stretching from hip to hip, through which he will be able to remove excess fat, skin and tissue from the abdomen. An additional incision may be made at the naval. The doctor will lift the skin off the stomach muscles in order to tighten them, using sutures to anchor them into their new position. The result is a trimmer waistline and a tighter 'six-pack.'

An alternative to a full abdominoplasty is the mini tummy tuck, which addresses the region between the belly button and the pubic bone where many people tend to manifest an undesirable protrusion. The mini tummy tuck is less invasive and has a quicker recovery time.

How do I get started?

Dr. Lahijani offers a discreet, complimentary consultation in the comfort of his office, during which he will examine your abdomen, review medical records and past surgeries, discuss your goals, and create a customized surgical strategy for moving forward. He meets with patients in one of his three Los Angeles offices, and is open to virtual consultations for out-of-town clients.

Tell me about recovery

Los Angeles tummy tuck patients may experience tenderness, swelling and mild discomfort after their treatment. These are all considered quite normal, and will be addressed by the doctor with pain medications as part of your detailed aftercare plan. The time needed to recuperate depends a great deal of each patient's level of fitness, with some requiring a longer healing period than others. Typically clients can return to work after 1-2 weeks.
